Mort au Vieux-Port

French Short Novel for Intermediate Learners (B1)

Dry boots. Two cups. One dead fisherman.

At six on a Tuesday morning, fisherman Toni Verdi, 63, is found dead on his boat at the Vieux-Port fish market in Marseille. It looks like a fall. Capitaine Nadia Benali, newly in charge of her own team, sees small things that don't fit: his boots are dry, there are two coffee cups, his phone is gone. If she calls it an accident, the case closes the same day. A short crime novel for intermediate learners of French (B1).

— Toni ? a appelé Clara.

Personne n'a répondu.

Clara a crié.
