Which level should I start with?
If you know fewer than a few hundred French words, start with A1 · Book 1. If you can read a simple menu and ask for directions, try A2. The sample chapter on every book page is the quickest test: if you understand most of it with the glossary, it's your level.
Do I need to read the books in order?
No. Each book is a complete story. Reading in order gives you the longer family story and lets you meet the same characters as your French grows.
What formats do I get?
EPUB (Kindle, Apple Books, Kobo and most apps), a PDF of the print edition and a printable workbook PDF. No DRM.
Is there audio?
Not yet. Audiobook editions at slow and natural speed are in production; join the list and we'll tell you when they're out.
Who writes the books?
Hélène Varin is a pen name. The books are written with the help of AI tools under human direction, checked with our level tools and reviewed in a separate AI pass. They are not reviewed by a native-speaker editor.
